IFA believes that each individual with autism deserves access to resources that help them maximize their full potential. We offer those resources to promote better quality of life for familes afflicted with Autism.
Autistic children do well when their families acquire the skill and confidence to solve problems and create a productive environment for their child’s development. Autism does not only happen to an individual, but the whole family system. It is our mission to address not only the needs of the child, but to empower parents to educate themselves to promote the development of their children.
ABOUT US:
Indians Fighting Autism was founded in 2006 to address issues surrounding Autism as well as culturally sensitive issues of the family system. It focuses to promote social support among community members. The founder of IFA, Smita Bhatt, M.D., is an experienced professional and the mother of two autistic sons. Dr. Bhatt has a long work history working with autistic children and also in the mental health field. She is currently furthering her academic career to include a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry Residency as well as RDI training.
Family Services:

Mentoring and coaching to families afflicted with autism
General evaluations to address area of need.
Provide effective parenting techniques to promote positive learned behaviors
Provide socio-cultural support to families.
Provide eclectic approach to in-home learning that combines theories of ABA, RDI
Provide techniques for tantrums, adaptive skills, difficulty waiting, sleeping issues,potty training, independence, lack of motivation, eating issues
